Have you changed your mind about Jesus yet?

  • Have you changed your mind about Jesus yet?
Paul told Timothy to teach these things.
    2 Timothy 1:7-11
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.--- (WE need more of it!)

8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (WOW)

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: (For us all)

11 Whereunto I (Paul) am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.--- (UMM Not Jews?)

2 Timothy 2:10-23 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes,> that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. (they) Read Romans 11:25 (Elect must be Jews not saved yet?--- Or when Romans was written?--(Tell me if you know.)

23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strife.

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, (humm) but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
(You shall receive POWER after the Holy Ghost has come upon you )

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, -----(Boy have these people got some things to overcome)
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (Know your BIBLE!!!)

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured:
but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. (Has this been in the Church? Well know your Bible.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Note on Repentance: The fact that people are called "to turn" either "to" or "away from" implies that sin is not an ineradicable stain, but by turning (repentance), a God given power, a sinner can redirect his destiny. There is with conversion, the free sovereign act of God's mercy and man's going beyond contrition and sorrow to a conscience decision of turning to God. God has done His part, says faith, so we do our human part showing forth His work of grace on our heart through our walk. Turning to God includes acceptance of all God's total will for one's life.
Strong's 3341 metanoia = Change of mind, remorse, regret, repentance from evil to good or from good to better repentance is expected to manifest itself in conduct.

Acts 26.20 -The kindness of God leads to repentance.

Acts 26:20 20 But showed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. Believe for the very works sake. = the Kingdom coming to earth.
(Thank God we are not left here on earth alone.)

Romans 2:4 Or despised thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, ( We should know we have repented. NO place for doubt?

Repentance toward God based on the death of Christ is permanent. The new birth brings this about. It cannot fail so cannot be repeated. The Death of Christ is central in our salvation and not any action (work) of ours. Salvation is of the Lord. He has purchased for us eternal salvation from death.

Remember the Sabbath is>."Not something new."

  • Another view of the sabbath, Church's history? Posted by Dillard Munsell dillmunsell@yahoo.com
Remember the Sabbath is>."Not something new."
Roman Catholic and Protestant Confessions about Sunday
The vast majority of Christian churches today teach the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, as a time for rest and worship. Yet it is generally known and freely admitted that the early Christians observed the seventh day as the Sabbath. How did this change come about?

  • History reveals that it was decades after the death of the apostles that a politico-religious system repudiated the Sabbath of Scripture and substituted the observance of the first day of the week. The following quotations, all from Roman Catholic sources, freely acknowledge that there is no Biblical authority for the observance of Sunday, that it was the Roman Church that changed the Sabbath to the first day of the week.
In the second portion of this booklet are quotations from Protestants. Undoubtedly all of these noted clergymen, scholars, and writers kept Sunday, but they all frankly admit that there is no Biblical authority for a first-day sabbath.
    Roman Catholic Confessions
James Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of our Fathers, 88th ed., pp. 89.
"But you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify."
    Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism 3rd ed., p. 174.
"Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?
"Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her-she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority."
John Laux, A Course in Religion for Catholic High Schools and Academies (1 936), vol. 1, P. 51.
"Some theologians have held that God likewise directly determined the Sunday as the day of worship in the New Law, that He Himself has explicitly substituted the Sunday for the Sabbath. But this theory is now entirely abandoned. It is now commonly held that God simply gave His Church the power to set aside whatever day or days she would deem suitable as Holy Days. The Church chose Sunday, the first day of the week, and in the course of time added other days as holy days."
Daniel Ferres, ed., Manual of Christian Doctrine (1916), p.67.
"Question: How prove you that the Church hath power to command feasts and holy days?
"Answer. By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of, and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same Church.'
James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore (1877-1921), in a signed letter.
"Is Saturday the seventh day according to the Bible and the Ten Commandments? I answer yes. Is Sunday the first day of the week and did the Church change the seventh day -Saturday - for Sunday, the first day? I answer yes . Did Christ change the day'? I answer no!
    "Faithfully yours, J. Card. Gibbons"
The Catholic Mirror, official publication of James Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893.
"The Catholic Church, . . . by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday."
Catholic Virginian Oct. 3, 1947, p. 9, art. "To Tell You the Truth."
"For example, nowhere in the Bible do we find that Christ or the Apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath day, that is the 7th day of the week, Saturday. Today most Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the[Roman Catholic] church outside the Bible."
Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., The Converts Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1957), p. 50.
"Question: Which is the Sabbath day?
"Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day.
"Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
"Answer. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."
Martin J. Scott, Things Catholics Are Asked About (1927),p. 136.
"Nowhere in the Bible is it stated that worship should be changed from Saturday to Sunday .... Now the Church ... instituted, by God's authority, Sunday as the day of worship. This same Church, by the same divine authority, taught the doctrine of Purgatory long before the Bible was made. We have, therefore, the same authority for Purgatory as we have for Sunday."
Peter R. Kraemer, Catholic Church Extension Society (1975),Chicago, Illinois.
"Regarding the change from the observance of the Jewish Sabbath to the Christian Sunday, I wish to draw your attention to the facts:
"1) That Protestants, who accept the Bible as the only rule of faith and religion, should by all means go back to the observance of the Sabbath. The fact that they do not, but on the contrary observe the Sunday, stultifies them in the eyes of every thinking man.
"2) We Catholics do not accept the Bible as the only rule of faith. Besides the Bible we have the living Church, the authority of the Church, as a rule to guide us. We say, this Church, instituted by Christ to teach and guide man through life, has the right to change the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament and hence, we accept her change of the Sabbath to Sunday. We frankly say, yes, the Church made this change, made this law, as she made many other laws, for instance, the Friday abstinence, the unmarried priesthood, the laws concerning mixed marriages, the regulation of Catholic marriages and a thousand other laws.
"It is always somewhat laughable, to see the Protestant churches, in pulpit and legislation, demand the observance of Sunday, of which there is nothing in their Bible."
    T. Enright, C.S.S.R., in a lecture at Hartford, Kansas, Feb. 18,1884.
"I have repeatedly offered $1,000 to anyone who can prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says, 'Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.' The Catholic Church says: 'No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week.' And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in a reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church."
    Protestant Confessions
Protestant theologians and preachers from a wide spectrum of denominations have been quite candid in admitting that there is no Biblical authority for observing Sunday as a sabbath.
    Anglican/Episcopal
Isaac Williams, Plain Sermons on the Catechism , vol. 1, pp.334, 336.
"And where are we told in the Scriptures that we are to keep the first day at all? We are commanded to keep the seventh; but we are nowhere commanded to keep the first day .... The reason why we keep the first day of the week holy instead of the seventh is for the same reason that we observe many other things, not because the Bible, but because the church has enjoined it."
Canon Eyton, The Ten Commandments , pp. 52, 63, 65.
"There is no word, no hint, in the New Testament about abstaining from work on Sunday .... into the rest of Sunday no divine law enters.... The observance of Ash Wednesday or Lent stands exactly on the same footing as the observance of Sunday."
Bishop Seymour, Why We Keep Sunday .
We have made the change from the seventh day to the first day, from Saturday to Sunday, on the authority of the one holy Catholic Church."
    Baptist
Dr. Edward T. Hiscox, a paper read before a New York ministers' conference, Nov. 13, 1893, reported in New York Examiner , Nov.16, 1893.
"There was and is a commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day, but that Sabbath day was not Sunday. It will be said, however, and with some show of triumph, that the Sabbath was transferred from the seventh to the first day of the week .... Where can the record of such a transaction be found? Not in the New Testament absolutely not.
"To me it seems unaccountable that Jesus, during three years' intercourse with His disciples, often conversing with them upon the Sabbath question . . . never alluded to any transference of the day; also, that during forty days of His resurrection life, no such thing was intimated.
"Of course, I quite well know that Sunday did come into use in early Christian history . . . . But what a pity it comes branded with the mark of paganism, and christened with the name of the sun god, adopted and sanctioned by the papal apostasy, and bequeathed as a sacred legacy to Protestantism!"
William Owen Carver, The Lord's Day in Our Day , p. 49.
"There was never any formal or authoritative change from the Jewish seventh-day Sabbath to the Christian first-day observance."
    Congregationalist
Dr. R. W. Dale, The Ten Commandments (New York: Eaton &Mains), p. 127-129.
" . . . it is quite clear that however rigidly or devotedly we may spend Sunday, we are not keeping the Sabbath - . . 'Me Sabbath was founded on a specific Divine command. We can plead no such command for the obligation to observe Sunday .... There is not a single sentence in the New Testament to suggest that we incur any penalty by violating the supposed sanctity of Sunday."
Timothy Dwight, Theology: Explained and Defended (1823), Ser. 107, vol. 3, p. 258.
" . . . the Christian Sabbath [Sunday] is not in the Scriptures, and was not by the primitive Church called the Sabbath."

    Alexander Campbell, The Christian Baptist, Feb. 2, 1824,vol. 1. no. 7, p. 164.
"'But,' say some, 'it was changed from the seventh to the first day.' Where? when? and by whom? No man can tell. No; it never was changed, nor could it be, unless creation was to be gone through again: for the reason assigned must be changed before the observance, or respect to the reason, can be changed! It is all old wives' fables to talk of the change of the Sabbath from the seventh to the first day. If it be changed, it was that august personage changed it who changes times and laws ex officio - I think his name is Doctor Antichrist.'
    First Day Observance , pp. 17, 19.
"The first day of the week is commonly called the Sabbath. This is a mistake. The Sabbath of the Bible was the day just preceding the first day of the week. The first day of the week is never called the Sabbath anywhere in the entire Scriptures. It is also an error to talk about the change of the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. There is not in any place in the Bible any intimation of such a change."
    Lutheran
The Sunday Problem , a study book of the United Lutheran Church (1923), p. 36.
"We have seen how gradually the impression of the Jewish sabbath faded from the mind of the Christian Church, and how completely the newer thought underlying the observance of the first day took possession of the church. We have seen that the Christians of the first three centuries never confused one with the other, but for a time celebrated both."
Augsburg Confession of Faith art. 28; written by Melanchthon, approved by Martin Luther, 1530; as published in The Book of Concord of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Henry Jacobs, ed. (1 91 1), p. 63.
"They [Roman Catholics] refer to the Sabbath Day, a shaving been changed into the Lord's Day, contrary to the Decalogue, as it seems. Neither is there any example whereof they make more than concerning the changing of the Sabbath Day. Great, say they, is the power of the Church, since it has dispensed with one of the Ten Commandments!"
Dr. Augustus Neander, The History of the Christian Religion and Church Henry John Rose, tr. (1843), p. 186.
"The festival of Sunday, like all other festivals, was always only a human ordinance, and it was far from the intentions of the apostles to establish a Divine command in this respect, far from them, and from the early apostolic Church, to transfer the laws of the Sabbath to Sunday."
John Theodore Mueller, Sabbath or Sunday , pp. 15, 16.
"But they err in teaching that Sunday has taken the place of the Old Testament Sabbath and therefore must be kept as the seventh day had to be kept by the children of Israel .... These churches err in their teaching, for Scripture has in no way ordained the first day of the week in place of the Sabbath. There is simply no law in the New Testament to that effect."
    Methodist
Harris Franklin Rall, Christian Advocate, July 2, 1942, p.26.
"Take the matter of Sunday. There are indications in the New Testament as to how the church came to keep the first day of the week as its day of worship, but there is no passage telling Christians to keep that day, or to transfer the Jewish Sabbath to that day."
John Wesley, The Works of the Rev. John Wesley, A.M., John Emory, ed. (New York: Eaton & Mains), Sermon 25,vol. 1, p. 221.
"But, the moral law contained in the ten commandments, and enforced by the prophets, he [Christ] did not take away. It was not the design of his coming to revoke any part of this. This is a law which never can be broken .... Every part of this law must remain in force upon all mankind, and in all ages; as not depending either on time or place, or any other circumstances liable to change, but on the nature of God and the nature of man, and their unchangeable relation to each other."
    Dwight L. Moody
    D. L. Moody, Weighed and Wanting (Fleming H. Revell Co.: New York), pp. 47, 48.
The Sabbath was binding in Eden, and it has been in force ever since. This fourth commandment begins with the word 'remember,' showing that the Sabbath already existed when God Wrote the law on the tables of stone at Sinai. How can men claim that this one commandment has been done away with when they will admit that the other nine are still binding?"
    Presbyterian
    T. C. Blake, D.D., Theology Condensed, pp.474, 475.
"The Sabbath is a part of the decalogue - the Ten Commandments. This alone forever settles the question as to the perpetuity of the institution . . . . Until, therefore, it can be shown that the whole moral law has been repealed, the Sabbath will stand . . . . The teaching of Christ confirms the perpetuity of the Sabbath."

Abraham’s servant looks for Isaac a bride.

ELEAZAR, Abraham’s servant looks for Isaac a bride.

“Then "ELEAZAR" he prayed, ‘O Lord, God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. May it be that when I say to a girl, “Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,” and she says, “Drink, and I'll water your camels too” -let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master’… After she had given him a drink, she said, ‘I'll draw water for your camels too, until they have finished drinking.’ So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the well to draw more water, and drew enough for all his camels.” After doing a little investigation I have found that camels can drink up to 20 gallons of water at a time. The account tells us Abraham’s servant had 10 camels with him, so when Rebecca watered the camels she packed potentially 200 gallons of water up out of the well, or ¾ of a ton of water: 1,600 lbs!

While this is an interesting piece of information, my point is that this is one very dramatic account of what took place when Abraham sent his servant to find a wife for Isaac. Rebecca was quite a girl. The account to me is just fascinating. Abraham tells his servant the Lord will send an angel ahead of him to provide success for the mission. The servant asks the Lord to demonstrate who he has chosen for Isaac by having the girl offer to water the camels. Clearly the angel has provided success!
While I don’t anticipate such dramatic events in my life, I nonetheless note that the Lord has made provisions for success for me as well… “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” 2 Peter 1:3-4. I suspect I would be just astonished to know in how many ways the Lord has provided for success for me in this life in very personal ways. I suspect we would all be!

CAMEL TRAIN ....Words of an old song about this wife for Isaac called Rebecca.

"Twas a day in early springtime,
By an ancient wayside well,
Eleazar paused to rest his camel train,
He had found a bride for Isaac
E'er the evening shadows fell,
And his weary journey had not been in vain.
So he took rhe fair Rebecca,
Decked in jewels rich and rare,
Back to Abraham and Sarah far away,
Where Rebecca loved her Isaac,
And he loved Rebecca fair,
Oh! it must have been a happy wedding day.

So the blessed Holy Spirit,
From the father God above,
Has come down to earth to find a worthy bride;
For our Isaac over yonder
Has prepared his tents of love
And he wants the fair Rebcca by his side.
We have left our kinfolks gladly; We have bid this world goodbye.
We are going to a land beyond the sea,
Where we'll soon behold our Isaac
In a home beyond the sky.
What a happy, happy wedding that will be!

We are on our camel journey
To the land beyond the sea,
Where our Isaac waits to meet his happy bride.
What a holy consumation!
What a glorious jubilee!
When we see the the fair Rebecca by his side.
That will be a joyful meeting,
When the camel train comes in,
When Rebecca leaves her camels by the way,
When we close our weary journey
Midst a joyful noise; -and,then,
That will surley be a happy wedding day!

O, get ready, the evening shadows fall.
Don't you hear the the ELEAZAR call?
There is going to be a wedding!
Our joys will soon begin,
In - the -evening, - when the camel- train comes in. Gen. 24

Genesis 24:11 And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.

Zechariah 14:6-8 6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. 8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. PROVERB AGANST THE KING OF BABYLON

Lucifer: A PROVERB AGANST THE KING OF BABYLON
"HOW ART THOU FALLEN FROM HEAVEN, (GRACE) O LUCIFER,
The name "Lucifer is found only once in the Scriptures, as quoted above, from Isaiah 14:12, and the popular belief held by many is that this is a reference ONLY APPLICABLE TO THE DEVIL. Over many centuries, people have been taught that this mysterious personage was once in heaven, but was cast out because of rebellion against God. Why such a belief should be held, is hard to understand, as will be seen from the following. Here is the complete verse.
Isaiah 14:12-13 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: KJV
Isaiah14:4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased! KJV
About Josephs dream.
Genesis 37:8-10 8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. 9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars (His brothers) made obeisance to me.10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I( Jacob) and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?
Another one like Joseph.
Revelation 12:1-5 1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman (Israel) clothed with the sun, (JESUS) and the moon under her feet,(Old Prophets) and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: = (Jesus apostles. 2000 years ago) 2 And she being with child (JESUS and his Church) cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; = (Where the people of God were.) and behold a great red dragon, = (Civil powers over Israel in Jesus day) having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.= (The kingdoms over the world from Babylon to Rome over time.) 606 BC to 1798 AD = 2520 years.
Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, (Gods people) and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. Herod 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. (Where JESUS is now.)
Matthew 2:7-10 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. 9When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
Jeremiah 31:15 Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not. (Herods Work every child from two years and under must be killed.) The stars of heaven, OK!!
Matthew 2;18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not. (Matthew writes of this in Jeremiah to let us know who he was writing about.) HEROD and the young children.
NOW IS LUCIFER THE DEVIL OR A MAN?
If the popular view is held, that Lucifer is "the Devil" and was cast out of heaven, then all these verses contradict each other, for why would LUCIFER want to "ascend into heaven?" How could he exalt his throne above the "stars of God" seeing that a REBEL in heaven is an impossibility? God is supreme and always has been. Again, how could LUCIFER "weaken the nations" and "be cut down to the ground". Would he not have much less power over anyone after being "cut down to the ground"? Why would he wish to sit upon "the mount of the congregation, (Where the High Preist were) in the sides of the north?"
WHAT ARE THE "SIDES OF THE NORTH?
Study what is meant by "the sides of the north". The answer is to found in Psalm 48:2, "Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, IS MOUNT ZION, on the sides of the north, the city of the great king" So LUCIFER desired, for some reason, to have control of Jerusalem. Then in verse 15 he was told he would be "brought down to hell,(Grave) to the sides of the pit". Thus he would be buried, and if so, he should not still be troubling the nations. Verse 16 goes on to say..."Is this "THE MAN" that made the earth to tremble?" So he was A MAN. Verses 18-20 tell of his end and compares it with the other Kings of the nations who were laid in the grave in glory. Then, still dealing with this 'so called Devil', imagined to be LUCIFER, verse 21 says...."prepare slaughter for his children".
WHAT IS THE SIMPLE TRUTH OF THE MATTER?
This whole record is concerning the King of Babylon. "For I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of Hosts, and cut off from BABYLON the name, and remnant, and son and nephew, saith the Lord." So Lucifer's people, son and nephew, name and remnant, were to be "cut off". Thus, if Lucifer's children would be slain, he also would be involved, and this miserable end mentioned in verse 20, could not be applied to the DEVIL, supposed to be an all powerful spirit being with horns and hooves and supposed to torture people eternally .
It is not reasonable for anyone to believe that LUCIFER of Isaiah 14:12-19,21 could be a fallen angel with magical powers, but yet be "cut down"......."cast down like an abominable branch" thrust through with a sword and his children destroyed. Who was this person and what had he done to bring such retribution upon himself? Why not study the WHOLE CHAPTER, instead of taking out just two verses, and weaving around them the story of a mystical character with extraordinary powers?
With this thought in mind, look at the start of Isaiah 14. "For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they (the strangers) shall cleave to the House of Jacob. And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the House of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were and they shall rule over their oppressors."
THE KING OF BABYLON
Now note carefully the words of the following verses> AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow,( This was about Cyrus king of the Medes and Persians who let them go back home to build the walls of Jerusalem again even in troublous times.)
Isaiah 14:3-4 3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve, 4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased! Then the story continues and pictures the ultimate breaking of the power of Babylon and it's King; and then, in words of "symbolism" how he had fallen from his high estate as the First World-Ruler, and how he had been brought low.
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. (Sons of God from Seth Adams sons married the sons of men.) They left their favor with God. There were Giants in the land men of renown from this union of wifes.
Nebuchadnezzar's dream
Anyone reading Daniel's wonderful interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's dream (Daniel 2:37) will see what a proud position this King had held, for God had given him the greatest of all empires up to that time. He had been used as a scourge against Israel, but retribution was to come, for this great King was driven from his throne by seven years of madness. This was an enormous "come-down" for a great King who had caused all the nations "to tremble". His fear was upon all nations and one after another they fell before him. No wonder the Prophet said of him...(Isaiah 14:16-17)..."Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms: that made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of the prisoners?"
Here was a Dictator, one who had conquered Israel with a great slaughter by God's will. He had taken them to Babylon...he had conquered Syria, Egypt, Moab, Ammon, and Arabia and many other lands. His pride and arrogance knew no bounds, and one day, in the Palace of Babylon, he made the boastful speech....."Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the Kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?" (Dan 4:30) Even as the last words were upon his lips, a voice from heaven passed judgement upon him and he was driven from his throne...(Daniel 4:31). Do you not see in this impious speech, the same outline as Isaiah 14 speaks of " I WILL ascend above the heights of the clouds; I WILL be like the most high." (Isaiah 14:14). Like the Jews in the temple!!And Nebuchadnezzar burned it in 606 BC.
ISRAEL BLESSED AFTER THE OPPRESSOR CEASED
But note again the words of Isaiah 14:1-4. God was to return and bless Israel and to bring them back to favour again, even though they were about to go into captivity. Israel DID return from Babylon, but the prophecy, in it's fullness, has not been completely fulfilled. Then note the words...."It shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou was made to serve, THAT THOU SHALT TAKE UP THIS PROVERB AGAINST THE KING OF BABYLON How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!."
The City of Babylon DID CEASE, and it truly is desolate. But Israel, the people whom Nebuchadnezzar oppressed, are back in their land. The parable is yet to be taken up against their many destroyers, who all sought to bring fear and dread upon Israel. Yet they are relieved of this fear and dread by the Father. As we read."The Lord will give thee rest from thy sorrow". (Isaiah 14:3)
Genesis 6:1-3 1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. When the Children of Seth \, Eve said I have begoten a man of the Lord. Then began men to call upon the name of the lord. But guess who didn't call on the name of the Lord . Cains children. "RIGHT"
The Lucifer of Isaiah 14 was not a fallen angel. HE WAS THE KING OF BABYLON!

Facts That Everyone Should Know About Israel

Two peoples claim the same land in the Middle East. Whose land is it? Who is right: Israel or the Palestinians? Does it belong to both peoples? Who has the right to decide to whom the Land belongs? Israel? The Arab League? The United States? The United Nations Security Council? The United Nations General Assembly? How should it be decided? By the Koran? By the various competing claims of history? By voting? By war? When the Word of God speaks
authoritatively on any subject, that is the final word. God has much to say about the Land and people of Israel in His supernatural revelation, the Bible, which is the very Word of God.
Fact #1. The Jewish people are the Chosen People: After Adam and Eve sinned, humanity deteriorated so badly that God destroyed the early world of men with the Great Flood. Noah and his family knew the Lord, and were spared, but after they came out of the Ark and started repopulating, their descendants abandoned God, became idolatrous, perverse and evil. Then God created a special nation to be a light to the other nations. The Creator of the universe specifically chose the nation of Israel to be that unique people who would witness to His reality. "For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the people who are on the face of the Earth" (Deuteronomy 7:6).
"You are My witnesses," declares the Lord, "and My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me. I, even I am the Lord; and there is no Saviour beside Me" (Isaiah 43:10-11). If the Chosen People were faithful to our calling, God promised to bless us
above all the other nations, so that the nations of the world would know that the God of Israel is the true God who alone can save us, by reconciling us to Himself, thereby restoring us to peace, joy, blessing and life. But if we were disobedient to our calling, the Lord promised to severely punish us so that the nations of the world would learn a lesson from us, and know that it is a terrible thing to disobey the God of Israel. Either way, through our obedience or disobedience, the Chosen People would witness to the other nations of the world that the God of Israel is to be reckoned with.
Fact #2. The Land of Israel belongs to God: "The Earth is the Lord's and all it contains, the world and those who dwell in it" (Psalm 24:1). Since the entire world belongs to God, He has the right to apportion it as He chooses, and He specifically gave the nations their lands based on the Jewish people's right to the Land of Israel! "When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when He separated the sons of man, He set the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel. For the Lord's portion is His people; Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance" (Deuteronomy 32:8-9).
Fact #3. The Chosen People needed a Chosen Land, and so the God of Israel strategically chose the Land of Israel for the People of Israel: "This is Jerusalem; I have set her at the centre of the nations, with lands around her " (Ezekiel 5:5). The Land that God chose for us is located in the centre of the nations, connecting the continents of Europe, Africa and Asia. Because of this strategic location, the Jewish people had ample exposure to all the nations of the world.
Fact #4. The Land of Israel was given by God to the descendants of Abraham as an everlasting possession: "The Lord appeared to Abram and said, "To your descendants I will give this Land'" (Genesis 12:7). God further said to Abraham: "I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. And I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession" (Genesis 17:7-8).
Fact #5. Even though Abraham had many sons, the Land of Israel wasn't given to Ishmael, or to any of the other sons of Abraham, but only to Isaac: "Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before You!' But God said 'No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him'" (Genesis 17:18-19). God rejected Abraham's request that Ishmael be the heir of the covenant, and appointed Isaac instead. Years later the Lord God appeared to Isaac and said, "to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to your father Abraham. And I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the Earth shall be blessed" (Genesis 26:3-4). Knowing that Isaac was the heir of the covenant, which included the
Land of Israel, Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac. He gave gifts to his other sons, but he sent them away to the lands of the east, not wanting the heir of the everlasting covenant to have rivalry over the Land of Israel from his siblings (Genesis 25:5-6).
Fact #6. Even though Isaac had two sons, the Land wasn't given to Esau, but to Jacob: One night Jacob had a dream while fleeing from his brother Esau. In his dream the Lord said to him, "I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the Land on which you lie, I will give it to you and to your descendants." (Genesis 28:13). God later appeared to Jacob and said to him, "the Land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give it to you, and I will give the Land to your descendants after you" (Genesis 35:11-12). This promise deeds the Land of Israel to the descendants of Jacob - the Jewish people of today.
Fact #7. There is no doubt about Israel's God-given borders because they are described for us in detail in the HolyScriptures: "The Lord said to Abram after Lot had separated from him, "Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; for all the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your descendants forever... Arise, walk about the land through its length and breadth; for I will give it to you'" (Genesis 13:14-17). "The Lord made a covenant with Abraham, saying, 'To your descendants I have given this Land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates'" (Genesis 15:18-21). "I will fix your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates" (Exodus 23:31). Therefore we must conclude that the entire Land of Israel, including Judea and Samaria (the so-called "West Bank"), Gaza, the Golan Heights, and all of Jerusalem, was given by the God of Israel to the people of Israel in perpetuity. We, and we alone, have been given the title to the Land of Israel as a permanent inheritance by the Lord. No human government or coalition of governments has the right or authority to cede portions of the Land of Israel to anyone else.
Fact #8. In addition to the everlasting covenant (which includes the Land), God swore an oath to give the Jewish people this Land: Keep in mind that it's absolutely impossible for God to break an oath (see Hebrews 6:16-18). In the Holy Scriptures, this oath is reiterated more than forty times. Here is just one example: "He has remembered His covenant forever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations, the covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac. Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance'" (Psalm 105:8- 11). There is no other passage in which there are so many words used to describe God's unyielding commitment to Israel: covenant, word, oath, confirm, commandment, a thousand generations, statute, everlasting covenant. A person has to have a terrible bias not to understand that God is assuring the Jewish people the perpetual right to the Land of Israel in the strongest possible language.
Fact #9. Israel's sin and resulting exile from the Land of Israel never annulled God's covenant with His Chosen People, nor did it permanently abrogate our right to the Land of Israel: "Yet in spite of this (Israel's disobedience), when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I so abhor them as to destroy them, breaking My covenant with them; for I am the Lord their God. But I will remember for them the covenant with their ancestors" - which includes the Land of Israel (Leviticus 26:44-45). Our exile from Israel was meant to be temporary! In Deuteronomy 30:1-5, Moses specifically predicted that we would experience a time of obedience and blessing within the Land, followed by a period of disobedience and exile from the Land, followed by spiritual restoration to God and physical restoration to the Land: "So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the Lord your God has banished you, and you return to the Lord your God and obey Him with all your
heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons, then the Lord your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the people where the Lord your God
has scattered you. If your outcasts are at the ends of the Earth, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back. And the Lord your God will bring you into the Land which your fathers possessed,
and you shall possess it." It's no coincidence that after two thousand years of exile, the Chosen People are being restored to the Land that our fathers possessed, and simultaneously, we are being spiritually restored to God through the Messiah, as is evidenced by the growth of the Messianic Jewish movement in Israel and around the world.
The Son of God Himself predicted that because the majority of Israel did not believe He was the Messiah, Jerusalem would be destroyed, and we would be exiled among the nations, but eventually, we would return to Israel (Luke 21:23-24). This prophecy began in 70 AD when Jerusalem was destroyed, and then again in 135 AD, when the Second Jewish Revolt against the Roman Empire was crushed. We were scattered to the nations, and lost political control of Jerusalem. However, over the past 2,000 years, there were always some Jewish people who remained in the Land of Israel. Starting in the 1880's, this prophesied regathering of Jewish people to Israel picked up speed, and now there is a reborn nation of Israel, withJerusalem as its capital, with 5.3 million Jewish people regathered from more than 70 countries, just as Israel's Messiah predicted.
Fact #10. In His prophetic Word, God promised to regather us to "our ownLand": "I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands, and bring you into your own Land... And you will live in the Land that I gave to your forefathers" (Ezekiel 36:24, 28). Again Ezekiel predicts: "Thus says the Lord God, 'Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own Land'" (Ezekiel 37:21). Jeremiah adds: "'Behold days are coming' declares the Lord, when it will no longer be said, "As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt," but, "As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of the north
and from all the countries where He had banished them." For I will restore them to their own Land which I gave to their fathers'" (Jeremiah 16:14-15). Ultimately this regathering to our own Land will be greater than the Exodus out of Egypt!
Fact #11. In His prophetic Word, God calls this restored Land "Israel" - not "Palestine": "I will open up your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the Land of Israel" (Ezekiel 37:12). The name "Palestine" comes from the Philistines, the ancient enemies of the Jewish people. "Palestine" was the derogatory name given to the Land of Israel by the Romans after they conquered us. But throughout the Word of God, this Land is always called Israel - never Palestine.
Fact #12. God, speaking to us through the prophet Ezekiel, informs us that this Land is specifically reserved for the Jewish people: "You O mountains of Israel, you will put forth your branches and bear your fruit for My people Israel; for they will soon come. For behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you will be cultivated and sown. I will multiply men on you, all
the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities will be inhabited and the waste places will be rebuilt" (Ezekiel 36:8-10). 2,500 years ago Ezekiel told us that in the Last Days the Jewish people would be restored to our Land. The Land would begin to prosper and the Jewish population would greatly increase. In the past century these prophetic words have been coming to pass. The Land of Israel, which lay barren for centuries, has seen increasingnumbers of the sons of Israel returning to our ancient homeland, repopulating the cities and cultivating the Land.
Fact #13. 2,500 years ago the Lord also told us that the Jewish return to the Land would provoke a reaction from Israel's neighbours: "Because the enemy has spoken against you "'Aha' and 'The everlasting heights have become our possession'... Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who appropriated My Land for themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and scorn of soul, to drive it out as a prey" (Ezekiel 36:2-5). Even though the nations surrounding Israel would claim possession of the Land of Israel for themselves, and try to drive out its rightful Jewish inhabitants, God repudiates the claims of these nations. Even though the majority of the Jewish people were exiled from our Land (there always was a remnant of Jewish people who remained within Israel), that doesn't give anyone else the right to claim the Land of Israel for themselves. If a landlord has some bad tenants that he evicts from his property, he does not expect anyone else to enter his vacant property and claim it for their own. Due to our sins, the Landlord of Israel evicted most of us from the Land, but that didn't give the Romans, the Byzantines, the Crusaders, the Ottomans or the Arabs the right to claim God's holy Land for themselves.
Fact #14. God will severely judge any nation who divides up any part of this special Land: "In those days and at that time when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My Land" (Joel 3:1-2). When Messiah Yeshua returns, the fortunes of the Jewish people will be fully restored, and the nations will be summoned to Jerusalem, where they will be judged for scattering the Jewish people and dividing up our Land.
Fact #15. Eventually this conflict over the Land of Israel will entangle the entire world: God, speaking through the prophet Zechariah in 12:1-3, in the Sixth Century BC, predicted: "Behold I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around" (the nations will react to the regathering of the Jewish people with senseless behaviour and irrational hatred); "and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. And it will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples" (Israel's Islamic neighbours want to destroy the hated "Zionist Entity" because the Islamic worldview teaches that the entire world will ultimately come under the control of Islam. A Jewish state in the midst of the Moslem Middle East is by its very existence an insult to Allah and Islam, and must be destroyed. Islam can have no true and lasting peace with Israel - only a temporary cease-fire. Hostilities will once again be renewed when Islamic strength is renewed. At its core, this is a religious conflict - not a political or economic one); "all who lift it will beseverely injured." (The nations of the world will be drawn into this conflict and try to remove the Jewish presence from Jerusalem. However, be warned - every nation that tries to remove the Jewish people from our Land and capital city will be severely injured). "And all the nations of the Earth will be gathered against it." (The world's united nations will wage a final world war in the Middle East, directed against Israel). It's amazing to see this 2,500-year-old prophetic scenario shaping up before our very eyes! Zechariah's prophecy continues and informs us that the army of the united nations will be defeated; God will destroy all those nations that fight against Israel; Israel will be miraculously saved and recognize Yeshua as the Messiah!
Fact #16. This will be a time of great difficulty for the Jewish people, but we will be miraculously delivered out of it: "Alas! for that day is great, there is none like it; and it is the time of Jacob's distress, but he will be saved from it" (Jeremiah 30:7). The fires of anti-Semitism will reach their hottest point in the near future, but with God's help, we will come through our fiery trials to a time of unparalleled salvation. Israel's salvation and blessing will then overflow to the other nations of the world.
Sadly, many Christians won't accept these facts because they accept "Replacement Theology," the erroneous teaching that God is finished with the Jewish people, and has replaced Israel with the Church. Speaking to us through the prophet Jeremiah, the Lord specifically warns against having a theology that denies Israel's future destiny: "Have you not observed what this people have spoken, saying, 'The two families which the Lord chose, He has rejected them?' Thus they despise My people, no longer are they as a nation in their sight. Thus says the Lord, 'If My covenant for day and night stand not, and the fixed patterns of Heaven and Earth I have not established, then I would reject the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, not taking from His descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them'" (Jeremiah 33:24-26). All of God's promises to the Jewish people will literally be fulfilled! Christians must repudiate "Replacement Theology." No one who claims to follow the Messiah ought to teach or believe that the Jewish people have been lost, destroyed, replaced, superseded, permanently set aside or continually exiled from our Land.
Don't ignore the admonition given by Rabbi Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, specifically directed to Gentile Christians, which I paraphrase here: "do not be arrogant toward the natural branches, the Jewish people. God chose them to be the root of the Tree of Salvation. They support you - you don't support or replace them! Only some of them were broken off from the Tree of Salvation - not all of them. Moreover, it is God's plan to graft the entire Jewish nation back into the Tree of Salvation, so don't be arrogant or conceited toward the Jewish people. Be respectful to them, lest God punish you! " (Romans 11:17-24).
Someone observed that knowing that God will not break His covenant with the Jewish people, even in spite of our sins, should be reassuring to every Christian. If God broke His covenant with the Jewish people (which includes the Land of Israel) due to our sins, what about twenty centuries of Christian history? It's true that there has been a faithful remnant within the Church, just as there has always been a faithful remnant of true Believers within Israel, but there has also been an endless succession of anti-Semitism, heresy, apostasy, greed, immorality, division, and ceaseless struggles for power and prominence within the visible Church. Professing Christians have subjected fellow Christians to torture and death in the name of Christ. If God can annul His covenant with Israel, then He can just as easily annul His covenant with the Church! But the faithful God will never break any of His covenants with Israel or the Church.
If you are a Christian you need to stand by Israel, and support Israel as much as possible. God's ancient promise in Genesis 12:3 is still very much in effect: "I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse." And God, speaking to Israel, promises, "Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonoured; those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish. You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent " (Isaiah 41:11-12).
Christian churches should regularly pray "for the peace of Jerusalem," asking God to send King Messiah back to Jerusalem, so He can rule on the throne of David, bringing peace to Israel and the other nations. There will never be peace in the Middle East, or on Earth, until Messiah Yeshua is ruling from Jerusalem over a restored Israel populated by Messianic Jews. We
need to pray for our Arab brothers, that they too might come into relationship with the God of Israel through Messiah Yeshua.
Rather than persecuting us for the death of Yeshua, and engaging in any form of anti-Semitism, true Christians must reach out to the Jewish people with love and mercy, and help us find God and the Messiah. Because of the way that God has used Israel to bring salvation to the other nations, every true Christian is under a special obligation to help the Chosen People, who have stumbled, come into a right relationship with God, which includes Messiah Yeshua. Rabbi Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, declared: "Salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel jealous" (Romans 11:11). True Christians should have compassion on us, love us and make us jealous of their relationship with the God of Israel. Your peace and joy, your love and mercy, and your knowledge of God and Messiah should challenge us to re-evaluate our rejection of Yeshua.
Finally, Christians need to support those who are reaching out to the Jewish people with the Good News about Messiah Yeshua, supporting those that not only bless Israel, but also bring us the Good News.

What is the normal Christian life?

Very different from the life of the avg. Christian
Let’s consider the written word of God
It’s no longer I.....but Christ!!

Gal 2:20
I have (been / past tense) (crucified / now dead) with Christ; and it is no longer I that lives, but Christ living in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith, of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

How can a simple thinking boy from Ballard county Ky. think like this? I’ve always been taught to take charge of my live!! But this is a higher way of life not only in thinking but also living.
As people we have two problems
Sins & Sin

Romans chapters 1- 8 There are two lines of thought, first line is (Sins plural) second (Sin singular) Why is this?

First - --- (Sins Plural) all the sins I have committed against God which are many!!

Second - (Sin singular) The nature of sin that is working in me. No matter how many sins I commit it’s the one (sin / or sin nature) that leads me to do them. I need forgiveness for my (SINS) but more importantly, I need deliverance from the Power of sin, the (SIN NATURE).
Sins and the forgiveness of them deal with the Conscience but the power of sin (SIN NATURE) deals with my life style. Do I have a nature that causes me to continually and habitually commit sins? The Bible says that our ultimate goal in life is to Please God. Heb 11:6 / 1st Thess 4:1

We have only one nature contrary to what most church people believe.
Hey, the light is shining!! I’m learning something here. When this light shines in my heart, the heart cries for forgiveness, then I realize, not only am I committing sins but there must be something wrong within me that causes me to do it, I find out it’s the Sin nature I have. God’s Solution! Now Jesus has Come, Died, Buried, Rose, Ascended, and he’s Coming back.

Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our (old man / sin nature) was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin; Is it possible??

Rom 6:13 Who or what ever has control of us will be the one in whom we serve. Sin or Righteousness. We have only one nature contrary to what most church people believe, the sin nature died with Christ on Calvary.

But look what Christ provides for us = 2nd Pet 1:4 Great and Precious Promises.

2nd Pet 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Remember the (old nature / sin nature) has been crucified; it died with Christ Rom 6:6 when something dies it must be buried. If you are a born again filled and walking with God’s Spirit then you have a new divine nature. You received it because God promised it. 2nd Pet 1:4

What will cause me to be able to think like this? Paul says to reckon yourselves to this.

God makes it very clear in his word that he has only one answer to ever human need and that’s Jesus the Son of God. In all his dealing with us he works by taking us out of the way and substituting Christ in our place.

Two substitutions

#1- Jesus (died) instead of us for our forgiveness. A substitute on the cross to secure our forgiveness.
#2- Jesus (lives) instead of us for our deliverance. A substitute with in us to secure our Victory.

All our questions are answered in this truth that it’s no longer I.....but Christ!!

Hebrews 4:10
This is entering into his rest when we cease from our work, STOP wrestling!! Let Christ live predominately in you he will solve all your problems by the exchange = Your work for His Rest, Hey! What a trade!! Christ always gives us the best deal, OH what a Savior!!
Conclusion; If Christ lives in me then it’s no longer I that rule its Christ. If he rules where do I fit in all of this? Hey, I’m resting, he’s working and I’m happy! David Gunn dgunn@brtc.net

The second death in the Book of Revelation.

There is a third type of death in Scripture that is different from spiritual death and physical death. This can be known as eternal death, or the second death. For the thousands of people we know and hear that teach the bible very few will ever touch on the second death.
Psalm 1:4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Psalm 1;5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

In the Book of Revelation we read.

Revelation 2:11 11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. KJV

Unless spiritual death is reversed in this life, the result will be eternal death. This is unending separation between God and all who reject him through his son Jesus.
Matthew 8:21-23 21 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead. (Note! By this we know people who don't know the Son of God are dead.) He called him Lord and he was a disciple. Where will his dead father and the dead who buried him be at the final judgement?

The final judgement for dead unbelivers

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Book of Life is mentioned seven times in the book of Revelation

Eternal Death

Eternal death, or the second death, is the ultimate form of separation. If a person dies in a state of spiritual death, they enter eternity separated from God. This is the second death. Once a person has experienced the "second death" there is no hope for them, it is irreversible. God is an all comsuming fire.
At the end of the one thousand years the dead stand before God. ("dead.")

Revelation 20;12-15 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell (Grave) were cast into the lake of fire.(Notice>>) This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. KJV = ( Is WHAT? ) > Death not Eternal life!!) (Get mad I don;t care!!)

Death is the one thing in life certain to occur. It is a one hundred per cent certainty.

Summary Physical death is the separation of the body from the spirit. Spiritual death, the way all of us are born, is the spiritual separation of each of us from God. Eternal death, or the second death, is the eternal separation of a person from God. There is no escape from the second death. It is the state of punishment. Every one not in the book of life, "Right")

It is where the last enemy is destroyed "Death"
1Corinthians 15:25-26
For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. Where?
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
The bible also speaks of the grave and death having power over men alive or dead:
Matthew 10:28 (Jesus) And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Grave). Does this mean the soul can be destroyed in Hell? Yes>
(Psalm 49:14) "Like sheep are they laid in Sheol: Death feedeth on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their comeliness shall be for Sheol to consume, that there be no habitation for them."

Men of God before the flood in Noahs Day who married the sons of men.

(Rom 5:14) 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
2nd Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels (These were the Sons of God , Adams First son cain and his children to Noah) that sinned, but cast them down to hell, (Grave) and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; (note ! The last Judgemet, Not the first resurrection.
Genesis 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. (A son of God.) But he cain killed his brother Able. God drove cain away from the sons of God.
Genesis 5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: 3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth: (A man of faith.)
Genesis 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

Real angels do not take a wife. they don't have children.

Luke 20:34-36 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: (Note here after the resurrection.) 36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Genesis 6:1-3 1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God (So called angels in 2ndPeter 2:4 ) saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. Real angels do not take a wife.
These men of faith will receive a better resurrection
. But they that married the sons of men death reigned over them. See Hebrews 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
Jesus said something similar: (Note. What great love God he has for his souls.) A second death!
(Luke 20:38)."
But he is not the God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him," KJV Is He your God today through Jesus our Lord??
